The conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Union Minister of Law and Justice, Communications and Electronics and Information Technology who delivered the inaugural address.
In his welcome address, Shri Shishir Jaipuria, Chairman, JGEI stressed upon empowering education and Industry 4.0. He also emphasized on personalized learning and how technology can facilitate the same.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad laid stress on how artificial intelligence will play a major role in the economic development of the country and how it will provide opportunities as well as put challenges around the globe. He also emphasised on how technological advancement will bring inclusivity in India.
The event also witnessed the presence of Mr. Vijay Thadani, Co-founder, NIIT as a Guest of Honour who enthralled the audience with his equation on AI+AI =AI2. Dr Radhe Shyam Pradhan, Professor of Tribhuban University, Nepal also, shared his views on the theme.
An edited book titled “Emergence of Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things: Challenges and Opportunities for Business, Society & Education” was also released during the inaugural session.
The subsequent sessions were addressed by CEOs and Directors from different verticals in AI & IoT space which included large corporations of public and private sector viz., Mr Alok Khanna, Executive Director of IOCL, Mr Atul Srivastava, Director-Personnel of SAIL to name a few. A few selected Research papers were also presented in the final technical session.
The valediction session was chaired by Dr Nar Bahadur Bista who is the Principal & MD of Interglobe College Nepal. Dr Bista thanked Jaipuria School of Businees for inviting him and applauded the institute for holding Conference on such a contemporary topic.
The Academic Advisory Council of Jaipuria School of Business met today at The Leadership Center, reviewed and approved the PGDM curriculum and syllabus for Academic Year 2019-20. The AAC consists of 20 eminent Corporate Leaders and accomplished Academics including CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CHROs, Directors and Professors, who suggested many innovative ideas for improving the learning experience of students.

The students participated in large number and expressed their views on how the management students utilise their skills and knowledge in building New India. Students selected some particular skills and competencies and discussed how those could be implemented and utilized for nation’s development. The arguments and points mentioned by the participants were indeed very intriguing. The Jury for the event included Dr. SP Verma, Professor & Head, MDP and Dr. Nitin Kumar Saxena, Associate Professor, Marketing. Both the judges agreed to the fact that the judging had been very difficult because of the oratorial skills displayed by the budding managers. It was quite evident that the future of the nation was in right hands and the youth of today was all set to take the nation further up towards success in all respects.
During the Valedictory session, the Director Dr. SK Mahapatra congratulated the participants for taking part in the event and for expressing their very relevant views on the topic. He talked about the most critical skills required of leaders and managers today – the critical thinking skills, the creative problem solving skills and the communication skills. He further urged the students to keep working hard to acquire the skills that would help them excel in their lives and subsequently help the nation grow. He made the students understand the importance of grabbing opportunities, which do not knock the door twice.
The winners of the event were felicitated and presented with very attractive prizes during the Valediction. The first prize was won by Mr. Abhishek Chand while Ms. Akansha Chauhan bagged the second prize.
It is noteworthy to share that the whole event was organised and coordinated by Tejus Indra, Abhishek Tyagi and Krishanga Bhardwaj, students of PGDM First Year at JSB.
The purpose of organizing this session was first, to introduce the students to the book “Cosmic Energy” which has been recently added to the programme curriculum at the University of Michigan and secondly, to make the students understand the importance of “art of condensation”. Preparing summaries, precis, reports and other shortened versions of the written texts is not an easy task as the essence and meaning of the original text have to be retained. The exercise familiarised the students with the basic rules that need to be followed while preparing the shortened versions of what they read or hear.
Sh. Vinod Malhotra, in his address, praised the students for their efforts in preparing precis which were very coherent and represented the Preface well. He also shared some tips to become effective writers.
The theme of the conference discussion was “Future of Technology: Unleashing the Power in Business” and several senior level professionals were invited to present their views and understanding on the changing paradigm of technology. Chief Guest of the Conference was Cabinet Minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu.
It was a great learning experience for the students as they got an opportunity to acquire knowledge as well as Managerial Skills. Technology is changing rapidly and profoundly, hence major focus of the Conference was on explaining latest trend in Technology which includes processes and products ranging from driverless cars, smart robots (bots as the cool people call them), artificial intelligence (AI), and internet of things (IoT), big data analytics, cloud computing, and virtual reality (VR). Keynote speaker Mr. Anindya Basu, Senior Managing Director, Accenture, explained beautifully that disruptions is the reality and is not something that is to be feared. Disruptions have a predictable pattern and if one can analyze the pattern it can be used as a tool for the growth of the organization.
Mr. Mukul Ghanekar, CEO, AVL India discussed Leveraging Machine Learning for Enhanced Customer Experience. Prof Rajendra Pratap Gupta, Policy Advisor, Union Govt. of India enlightened us on Digital Health in India: 2019 and beyond. Mr. Krishna Prasad, CEO, Interaction One & CEO, Mobmerry threw light on Voice and IoT as future technologies. After that several other speakers presented their brainstorming thoughts and made the audience dive into the future and imagine how future will look like with the advancement in technology. The main attraction of the Conference was “Inaya” the AI-powered robot and drones which can be controlled by the movement of palms.
As it is rightly said “Change is the only constant”, technological change is also inevitable and opportunity lies in embracing the change.

Mr. Rajesh Kamath, Founder of Chanakya Consulting Insights and Co-founder of MTHR, conducted the post-lunch motivational session by using story-telling technique to understand the tenets of management.
The second day of the programme began with the Dean (Academics) introducing the PGDM rules and regulations to the new students. It was followed by an interaction session of the new students with the members of the faculty, where the new students were familiarized with the curriculum and course structure. Further, the students were addressed by very renowned speakers from the Government and the corporate Ms. Purnima M. Gupta, Economic Adviser, GOI (Retd.); and Sh. Kamal Singh, Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network India. Mr. Partho Kar, Member, Board of Governors also addressed the students and welcomed them. Later, Mr. Pramod Joshi, Co-founder and Director of The Winning Mantra conducted an interactive session on the skills required to succeed in work life. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Timira Shukla, Dean, Academics.
On the final day of the programme, the students were taken to “The Blue Camp, Damdama”, where they participated in a number of teambuilding activities designed for their overall personal and professional development. The final day outing and activities inspired the new students to gear up for the exciting and challenging days ahead.
