Jaipuria School of Business, Indirapuram celebrated the sequel of SCINTILLA – the Annual Inter College Festival of the Institute with a lot of pomp and show on 2nd March 2019 in the campus grounds. SCINTILLA 2K19, a mega cultural extravaganza brought together participants from various institutions in Delhi NCR and provided them with a platform where they showcased their talents and skills.
Known to attract the best talent from across various colleges, Scintilla 2019 took things to the next level this time. The function commenced with Saraswati Vandana – a dance recital by Akansha, a PGDM student at JSB and the traditional lamp lighting ceremony. The festival was formally inaugurated by the Director, Dr SK Mahapatra. He welcomed the dignitaries and exhorted the participants from different colleges of NCR to enjoy the competition with the spirit of camaraderie. In his address, he urged the youth to stay focused and embrace change in all walks of life to take the nation to new heights of excellence. He also emphasised on the role and significance of cultural activities in overall development. The performances in almost all the events upped the fun quotient of the annual cultural festival and provided a platform to the participants to showcase their talent. The winners of different events were presented with prizes and certificates in the Award Ceremony later in the day by the Chief-Guest for the occasion Sh. Vinod Malhotra, Member, Board of Governors, Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions.
A multitude of students participated in the one-day mega event and took part in the splash of events and activities lined up for the day including Treasure Hunt, Tug of War, Painting Competition, Capture the Event Competition, Street Play, Singing Competition, Dance Competition and many more. The major attractions, however, were the Fashion Show and the Band Performance.
The Street Play competition saw participation from various colleges of Delhi University, Greater Noida, Noida and Ghaziabad. The team from Vivekanand College, Delhi University won the champion’s trophy. The team very beautifully and convincingly presented the plight of the nomadic tribes in the country and why these tribes need help from the government and the people of the nation. The event was judged by Ms. Dimple Mittal, General Manager, Business Development, American Academy of Financial Management and Ms. Sweety Singh, Head, Placement, JSB.
The Group Dance competition was very stiff with several teams from outside and one team from JSB participating and competing for the winner’s trophy. Even the bad weather could not break the Morales of the participants. The winner’s trophy was won by the team from College of Vocational Studies, Delhi University while the team from Galgotias University bagged the Runner’s Up Prize. The event was adjudged by Ms. Shradha Kapila, Director, SNA Dance Academy and Dr. Timira Shukla, Dean, JSB. The singing competition was adjudged by Ms. Monika, Operations Manager, AAFM, Delhi and Ms. Lalita Tyagi, Head, CFLLL, JSB.
The Fashion Show was the Main Event of the day. Several Teams from Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad and one team from JSB participated in the mega-event. The Ramp walks, the sequences, and the messages communicated were indeed awe-inspiring. The winner’s trophy was won by the team from Maitry College, Delhi University. The team presented the theme of women empowerment and very convincingly communicated the current plight of the women in the country. The competition was judged by Ms. Rita, Director, SMA Delhi – International Makeup Academy and Ms. Barbara, an Italian Model. Ms. Rita, in her address, extolled the performances of the participants.
The last event for the day was a Band Performance by the ALAHADA Band from AAFT. The crowd, even after the long tiring day, was seen dancing to songs performed by the band.
In addition to the main attractions, there were many other events too wherein participants took part including a treasure hunt, Antakshri, Capture the Event, PUB G, Painting Competition, and Tug of War.
The cultural event was sponsored by various esteemed organisations like Decathlon, Yakult, American Academy of Financial Management, Box of Expressions and Laisha Travels.
The wonderful organisation and coordination by the students and JSB fraternity was truly a delightful journey of learning that transcended boundaries.
